Get Free GST AssessmentFor businesses supplying goods, the threshold is typically ₹40 Lakhs (₹20 Lakhs for special category states). For service providers, mandatory registration triggers at ₹20 Lakhs (₹10 Lakhs in special states). Interstate suppliers and eCommerce operators require compulsory registration regardless of turnover.
GSTR-1 is a statement of outward supplies where you report all sales invoices, B2B details, and credit notes. GSTR-3B is a monthly self-assessed summary return where you report total sales, claim eligible Input Tax Credit (ITC), and pay the net output tax liability.
Under GST Rule 36(4), you can only claim Input Tax Credit on invoices that appear in your auto-generated GSTR-2B statement filed by your suppliers. Reconciling your purchase register with GSTR-2B ensures you never overclaim (triggering 18% interest under Section 50) or underclaim eligible credit.
Do not ignore it. GST notices carry strict 15 to 30-day statutory response deadlines. Share the notice with our indirect tax team immediately. We examine the statutory grounds, verify your reconciliations, and draft a point-by-point factual reply with supporting invoice ledgers.
Currently, e-invoicing is mandatory for registered businesses whose aggregate turnover exceeded ₹5 Crores in any preceding financial year since 2017-18. B2B invoices and export invoices must be authenticated on the Invoice Registration Portal (IRP) to generate an IRN and QR code.
